Community Productive Space in Valle Bonito, Monteverde

At Garúa Eco Experiencias, we are developing a Community Productive Space in Valle Bonito, a project designed to strengthen sustainability, environmental education, and the connection between the community and the land.

This space includes two main areas:

- A low-maintenance edible forest, with fruit trees, medicinal plants, and species useful for erosion control and producing mulch and charcoal for composting.

- A community garden where vegetables and perennial edible plants will be grown, open to the community during the day as a space for learning and participation.

In addition, we will implement a community composting system to transform the neighborhood's organic waste into natural fertilizer that will be used within the project and in the garden.

What is our purpose?

Promoting food self-sufficiency, regenerating soils, and creating a sustainable urban agriculture model that can be replicated in other communities. We want to build a space where neighbors, families, and visitors can learn, participate, and grow food together.

What we seek to achieve

Reduce organic waste in the area through a composting system open to the community.

Growing food sustainably, applying permaculture principles to improve biodiversity.

Strengthening the community by offering workshops, planting days, and educational activities for all ages.
